How do I create captions?

Record a video or choose one from your phone. Select the spoken language, agree to send the audio for transcription, then review and edit the captions. Finish to export the captioned video on your device.

What’s included for free?

Three caption attempts per installation each day, for clips up to 90 seconds. The allowance resets at midnight UTC and is subject to shared daily service capacity. Once an attempt is accepted for transcription, it counts even if the provider later fails. Editing and exporting existing captions does not use your allowance.

Why can’t I find the app in the stores?

Cringe Mountain is currently in testing. Public iPhone and Android downloads will be available after store approval. We’ll update the home page when they’re ready.

Which languages can I use?

Choose English, Hebrew, Arabic, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Hindi, Chinese or Japanese. Accuracy varies with language, accents, background noise and recording quality. Always review AI-generated captions before sharing.

Transcription isn’t starting.

Check your internet connection and remaining daily allowance. The first request after the service has been idle may take longer. If app verification fails, use the official testing or store installation rather than a copied app file. Contact us if the problem continues.

My video won’t export.

Keep the app open while it processes and make sure your phone has enough free storage. Exporting happens on the device, so longer videos may take more time.

What happens to my video and audio?

Your video stays on your phone unless you share it. With your permission, extracted audio is sent through Google Cloud to Groq to generate captions. Our caption server does not save your audio or transcript. Read the privacy policy for provider processing, retention and your controls.

Privacy requests

Email cringemountain@dorkalev.com. You don’t need an account to contact us. Deleting app data removes local drafts; exported or shared videos remain wherever you saved them.
